“Yesterday at work, I found myself chuckling
under my breath and wondered why.....then it hit me; I was doing the same
thing the author had talked about doing when she was having a tough day
at work .”

Live the Moment
Want to read a hilarious piece that Julie wrote back in
her single days? Author Jennifer Lauren kindly posted it on the web page
of her new book, Solo
Bliss.

A Personal Note from the Author.
Anybody can “Google me” and see that for 17 years I was an
advertising writer. (I still take freelance work once in a while if it’s
a fun project, like when my friend Robert, the Creative Director at Limited
TOO Brands needs me to think like an eleven-year old.) It’s easy
to discover that I’m a regular contributor to Family Circle’s
“Humor” and “Inspiration” column, and that I’ve
had several pieces published in the Cup of Comfort
anthology series, even won the Grand Prize in the collection for women
with my story “On Turning 40”.
But for the purposes of this web page, I’d like to share why I went
from writing advertising copy to letting Live in the
Moment virtually flow from my fingers. The more I wrote, the more
I loved to write; only a different writing style began to emerge. I started
writing personal essays in an effort to work out my own problems, as well
as general perplexities about life. I felt my own voice coming out and
wanting to speak to other women about the things that we all seem to struggle
with from time to time.
Live in the Moment is based on one person’s
self-acquired skills for leading an optimistic, fulfilling and generally
happy life. I have a passion for the topic of personal happiness, probably
because I have a background of creating ways to find iit. I am not “the”
expert on happiness – if such a position can truly exist. I am an
expert in cheering myself and others by finding a brighter way of thinking,
and ultimately feeling.
